dug this up today under a house im tearing down.think the house was built in the twentys bottle came for as much as 3 ft deep not really sure, thats how deep the hole was when we saw it in the dirt pile. it says Holland across the side near the bottom. seam up both sides to the bottom of the lip cant feel a seam on the lip.bottom seems to be sunk in a little. would love to know what it is and maybe the age. thanks much. i havent been on here in a couple years but knew from past experience that if anybody knew yall would. thanks Preditor...

It's an opium vial. They didn't always contain opium, but most of the time they did.

I have a bunch just like that. I'd say late 1800's if it's not pontiled.

If it is op then it would have a very distinctive small circular area on the bottom with a rough or jagged type surface that is easily noticable by simply running a finger tip over it. I am sure others can give you a better description.

I think that vial contained a very old recipe of a product called "Genuine Tilley" I'm not sure if my memory serves me completely correct, but I'll see if I can find you some more info... I used to dig those sometimes.
