I am new to bottles. I was given a bottle that is shaped like a beer bottle. The words are:

WILH.PIEL
VELTEN

UNVERKAUFLICH

Hi dharper,
I know the "unverkauflich" is "unsellable". "Wilh. Piel" could be the persons name, or the name of a town (Wilhelm, Germany). Hope it helps.

Hi,
That's ok. German is a language that is pretty concise in every word. It literally describes what something is (for instance, when we say, "the house is on the lake", Germans linguistically infer that we mean the house is in the middle of the lake!!!). Unsellable could also mean "Not For Sale" or "Not For Resale". As this is a common word use on some bottles. Any other questions?

Herr Matt

Auf wiedersehen!!!
