My family and I just returned from our trip to the National Sports Collectors Convention in Baltimore. It is a 6 day baseball card show that we set up at each year for the last 24 years. The show was average, which is great for this economy. I'd go back to Baltimore if they have it there again. The people were friendly, the traffic wasn't bad and the parking downtown wasn't as big a problem as we expected.
My daughter is a fan of Edgar Allen Poe so on Monday we took the light rail downtown from our hotel so we wouldn't have to drive the loaded truck down there, to see Poe's grave. We walked from the rail station at Howard St and Pratt St to the church where the gravesite is located. Interesting. Then Stephanie wanted to see Poe's house so we started walking the 1/2 mile to the house. After about 3 blocks we were in GHETTO City. We kept walking and I never felt so white. We made it to Poe's house and it's not open on Monday and we were scared and walked back out. Safely, but I wouldn't go back there on foot again even in the daytime.
Anyway, it wasn't all a sports trip. I bought some bottles too. I picked up 17 Baltimore beers from brokenshovel that he had for sale here a few weeks ago. We stopped at one antique mall between Zanesville, Ohio and Baltimore and they had lots of bottles. I'll post some pictures.
