brown "whiskey" bottle??

I found a little bottle, about 6 inches tall, looks like the old fashioned moon shine type bottle. It has a textured feel, and the numbers L-654 on the bottom. It looks like there is a small anchor on the bottom as well. It is dark brown. I cannot post a pic right now, but would love to have a idea of what this is. I will try to post a pic as soon as possible. Thank you.
