came across this bottle at a flea market a couple weeks back , I bought it as I had never seen the bottle before and its from my area or just a little bit north of where I'm from . have a lot of other bottles from Macdonalds beverages north bay but hadn't seen this one before . there is also a guy from north bay who runs a local history website and I emailed him about the bottle and he hadn't seen it before either and he has pictures of a lot of bottles on his site . so what I know about the bottle , its clear embossed and only 7 oz , is a more common 12 oz bottle that looks similar to this one but not exactly same design . has mark on bottom des reg appl for 1950 and made by consumer glass . so sort of a mystery bottle, I'm thinking its maybe a short lived transition bottle ? they used at some point when they stopped using one of there more common bottles until they switched over to another design ? but wasn't used for very long so not many out there ?or its like a sample bottle they had made at some point but never went into full use ? as to how the guy got it would be harder to explain though but either way a neat bottle to add to collection

to better explain things I figured I'd post some other pictures I have of the other bottles to company used to help explain why this bottle is different than ones I've seen so far . 2 of the older bottles I have from this company , the first is a clear 7 oz bottle , very plain and one of the first used by this company , just has macdonalds and son and north bay on front . likely used in the 1920's as company first listed in book in 1923 using that name , then beside is their art deco bottle , has a date of 1930 on it , similar size but company did add " ltd " to name . they likely used this bottle into 1940's I'm assuming . both these bottles are a similar size and colour to bottle I found .

the bottle beside the common 12 oz bottle from this company , is also a green 12 oz version I don't have yet . you can see a lot of differences although similar bottle . no natural flavour on 12 oz . glass has more texture on the 7 oz bottle , both the front and back are same on 12 oz . the flower design only appears on 7 oz . is also no date on 12 oz so not sure exactly when it was used

the bottle beside some other bottles used by this company in 50's -60 's era . they started to use more acl bottles later on is a 10 oz and 12 oz acl . is also a green 7 oz and some ginger ale bottles for temagami dry from them as well . I don't have a lot of the ginger ale bottles yet . you can see the size of the embossed bottle I found is very similar to the small green bottles they used

generic ? no its similar to the 12 oz bottle used by this company but as far is I know not used by anyone else . I think its a thistle embossed on the back , that what it appears to be. the date of 1950 isn't that long ago , maybe there is still someone around north bay who knows something more about it , if I search around some more . it shows even when you think you've seen every bottle there is from your home area there is still a few really hard to find ones you don't have yet and maybe never even seen before .

Yes a little research and patients will pay off and hopefully reveal a little more about the bottle. Very cool thistle embossed on it. On the the group of three 7oz bottles, the middle one , is that supossed to be an orange embossed on it?

not sure its more of a circle , sort of star design , its a somewhat unusual bottle made by consumers glass , not that rare I have seen others around of the 1931 version from time to time . I've yet to find one swimming or digging though but seen in stores or ebay before .

found another macdonalds bottle mixed in with some extra's I had , its 7 oz and green , but has the same natural flavour logo on it , appears there was a time this company switched over all bottles to natural flavour logo and maybe that will help to explain when mine was used or why it was made ?
