8 1/4" tall, 3 1/4" x 2" base. sides embossed. Big C for both Campe's California on one, Cherry Cordial other same way w/C. Pretty heavy 1 1/2lb. I was figuring a spirit. I spent a few minutes trying to search in a few ways but came up with asking you all here. if it is a commn bottle, I'll get clued in pretty quickly. if it ain't, maybe quicker.
regardless, it kept telling me to give it a home. I like it already.
thanks for all the help on id'ing and such. great place for a newbie to land.

base

Thanks for responses. I saw a few other CA Cordials in searching meds, but not this. Looking for distillery also didn't prove successful.
the bottle has a little crudity- some wave , a goodly amount of tiny bubbles, an irregular blob in the glass 1/2 the size of my thumb near base) next pic

If it's a med and you aren't familiar w/it Mike, then ..

it came out of a fairly large and varied collection. I have been picking a few bottles every week from it at a flea market. I gave him a list of what I don't buy-it was easier than what i will- and every week i am going home with something kind of cool. He's selling them for an old lady whose husband was the collector. I already asked if i could go to the source but he is trying to make the money. He treats me fair and I don't see a reason to screw it up.
Mike

My guess is it is a medicine for throat and lungs. I did a little searching and didnt come up with much.
May be worth searching the old California papers. Its a late bottle probably 1890s or so.

Henry Campe was a whiskey dealer out of San Francisco. It is one of his side items. Alot of the whiskey dealers had bitters, tonic's and medicinal cordials as additional items in their inventories.
