Hello everyone! i came by your very interesting website trying to find some answers about a bottle i found in the woods. The condition of the bottle is very good, the only drawbacks are stains inside the bottle, it is of amber color, measures 5x16 cm, it is ABM, has three point screw top, the bottom is smooth with the letters VB inside a circle, and outside of the circle the letter S and in the other side the number 7, the bottle is embossed with the word HEMATOETHYROIDINE written vertically. I have attached photos of the bottle for your help.
Cane you help with any info on it?

Thank you all very much for your precious time

Nikolas

It seems to be a thyroid medication. The thyroid is probably your most important gland as it keeps you alive and well in so many ways.
The bottle appears to be from the first half of the 1900s. After 1920, albeit I'm not familiar with styles of screw-tops.
I couldn't find your glass-maker on this very helpful site, though.

Welcome. :)

Thank you my friend, i believe the same, somewhere between 1920 and 1938, i found also this..
" Anti thyroid medication, based on the theory of
hyperthyroidism was first utilized by Ballet and Enriquez.
The idea is as follows: neutralize the excess of thyroid
secretion by the use of the blood of animals, whose thyroid
had been removed. (The preparation usually employed
is Hematoethyroidine)."

so i suppose the ingredient inside the bottle was animals blood..
Now this info comes from an 1922 American translation from a French medical paper with the title
ENDOCRINE GLANDS AND THE SYMPATHETIC SYSTEM. This bottle was found in Greece, so maybe the bottle manufacturer was an English or French.
