Cobalt blue mason jar question.

We think we have a cobalt blue mason half gallon jar orginal and we were wondering how we could tell if it was the real thing?

where did you get it, that would help knowing if it could be a repro or not

It was my dads he gave it to me about 30 years agn the base it says mason's cj with a circle on the side.then patent nov 30th.has a line under the th and 1858. it also has a zinc lid.It says zinc lid made for mason and its glass on the inside of the lid and it is cobalt blue.You can see bubbles through the glass.

there is some numbers on the bottom but we can't make them out.

so how much would a reproduction be worth? and an orginal aswell.

Don't know what the repros are worth but a real one is worth big bucks. Can you post a pic???

If it's a repro its worth about $20. If its an orginal it's worth $20,000. If you can post some pictures we can help you better.

It sounds like your describing a Consolidated Fruit Jar Co.piece.If you are, I do not believe they were made in cobalt.Dark cornflower blue,and sky blue,yes.Does the symbol look like this one?Also,there are a couple of jars in the blues mentioned above in the "jar talk"forum.Hope this helps.
