I haven't had the chance to hold either yet so I'm not sure about condition and they're not from my neck of the woods. Are these run of the mill ~ say 20-50?

Red book of Fruit Jars #10 lists the stoneware E. Swasey at $50-$75 (no size listed, and without 'USA'). I saw two go at auction last night (in Maine) at over $100 each. One 5" for $125 and one 6 1/2" for $150. They were both the variety without 'USA' on them, and were listed as oyster jugs.

I'd say the Newark one is at least $100. Those jugs are pretty highly coveted around here, and that's not a name I've heard before.

I would never have thought to look in a jar book for this bottle. Both pieces are at least a two hour drive one way so I'm probaly gonna pass. Thanks a lot.

I researched the Swasey years ago. I don't have the info anymore but I think during the 1900-30 period they were huge. I still remember the sign paint on the building in the downtown from not more than 10 or 15 years back.
I'm pretty sure they bought the blanks and stenciled and fired themselves. The jars and the jugs are common, at least up this way.
