Sorry I can't help much but welcome and good luck.
You may want to expand a search through the local historical society and if your doing a web search, try creamery or dairy instead of farm. You'll get different results sometimes.
Also, try the present land owners. They may give you permission to scrounge, dig etc..
Is the land a development now?

Thanks for your response and suggestions. Also, yes the land is a development now. But the farm house and barn are still a primary residence for someone.
