Dairy maybe?

Looks somewhat similar in form to a "Berry Jar", but I've never seen a clear one...

I'd be more in line with Jim's thought, more a food type than dairy. I can't say it's not dairy or a berry. Maybe a maraschino cherry or even olive. I little different that the more obvious looking ones but close enough.

I'd call it a food jar as well. It reminds me a lot of the American Oyster cylinder style food bottle that I used to have. Here's a picture borrowed from the Little Rhody Bottle site.
