Hello, anyone have any information on this one? It's dark teal color, blown glass, octagon shaped and 9" tall with no other marks. . I'm thinking a beauty product like perfume, or not likely but, possibly poison. . All thoughts welcome!

I'm afraid it's a modern bottle, the kind that they sell at chain stores for decor. It's machine-made, not mouth-blown (the seam on top of the lip means it was made in an automatic bottle machine), and it never held anything.

You could be correct. And I agree not mouth blown. But there are bubbles in the glass. And the neck seam and the bottle seam don't match up, which they should be just one mold line if a modern piece. . But I could be completely wrong, still learning here. . I only know enough to be dangerous.. To my wallet, lol

Bubbles in glass aren't really a reliable way of telling age with this sort of thing. Modern glassmaking can almost entirely eliminate bubbles, but only if care is taken to avoid them, and there's no reason to do that with decorative glass since bubbles are aesthetically pleasing. Sometimes they're added intentionally.

The neck seam and bottle seam not matching up is actually mostly seen on very modern glass, and never seen on pre-20th century glass. That's the sort of thing you often see on bottles made on machines used in other countries which use a very different type of automatic bottle machine than the ones used in North America. I'm not sure how those other machines work to produce the non-aligned seams, but it seems quite common on bottles produced in other parts of the world (I'm wondering if these machines are descended from an old Soviet design, because it seems more common in former Eastern Bloc countries).

Thanks for the information. The neck seam and bottle seam not matching up is the main reason I thought it would be older, not used to seeing modern bottles made that way. Thanks again for the help!
