I had no idea they were still around. And after trying it I am doubly surprised they are still around! Their quote on the side say's "Distinctly Different". It certainly was. It tastes very much like an old medicine. They are made in Bedford NH. I picked up a bottle while out east at the National show in Manchester. It looks like they even have a web site http://drinkmoxie.com

I grew up on the stuff and love it...every time I go visit my parents I pick up some. I can actually get it down here in Texas at Specs...but a pretty long drive. Nonetheless, probably an acquired taste but my favorite soda for sure.

Now then, I have to tell you about my early experience with Moxie. When I was in high school. on bad day noon-hours, I would go downtown to the Olimpian Soda fountain and get a Moxie drink. But I knew that if I took an Aspirin with it and went back to school - I could go to the Nurses office - and she would send me home. So I took ALL AFTER NOON, and walked home along the path on our side of the lake.
It didn't help my education level, but it help me have some free time to myself. I even timed it to be home when the school buss went up our side of the lake. BAD BOY, but no doubt it only hurt me a little bit in my grades. I called it my " My chance to escape control.

There have been a few additions since this picture. My favorite, a Sugar-Free 10 inch ACL which I don't have a picture of. My grandma got me hooked on the stuff a long time ago. Every time I go up to NH or ME I buy like 5-10 12 packs because they only have them in 6ers or 1 liter bottles down here in SE MA. I love the stuff, it's the nectar of the gods. It's best with Wild Turkey 101, Jack, or just plain ole Moxie. It is sad though I have not had it in the glass yet with the cane sugar. I went to Zeb's in N. Conway and they didn't have any left. I was highly disappointed. Maybe Labor Day weekend they will have some. Thanks for the Moxie thread, I'm always curios as to how many people like the stuff and have heard of it!

Sadly it is not. It is signed by Daryl Spencer, whoever that is. It was my grandfather's and it fits well with my theme. Just not perfect lol
