We dig the clear, round ones with that embossing all of the time & once in awhile an aqua. I never related it to the same patent as the Mischler's. Cool info.
Alright, you made me go look. Here is a picture of a couple you are welcome to.Thought I'd post to show what we were talking about. They clear one is not the ones I am used to seeing, they normally look like the aqua example.I am not sure what the unit of measurement is but I am sure you will know. Come to think of it,I think we see the squares too, so I'll keep a look out.I normally toss these without much thought. Now, after this discussion they are pretty interesting from a historical perspective.
The bases. The aqua one is embossed G W S in the center of the patent date, the clear one is not.The aqua is an applied lip and the clear one is tooled.. They all seem to date to the late 60's early 70's based on context.
I think they are interesting bottles. You dont see much in the way of graduations on bottles again until much later when all of a sudden you see a huge number (maybe after the patent expires?)
I found this odd graduated bottle. It also appears to have early style graduations but I question whether it is american or even a medicine for that matter.
