This being my first post I thought I'd go with my most confusing bottle! I'm organizing and cataloging a friend's deceased dad's collection. They're all stored in barns and chicken coops and have not only the lake muck they were found in, but tons of mouse poop! I'm a good friend.
So:
W.S. LATHROP
CHAMPION N.Y.
bottom:
PAT JUNE 11 1872 NY
MADE BY JOHN MATTHEWS
The lowest blob looks like it was split in half and one went up and the other down. The top blob is nicely done and the rest of the bottle seems round and even. There are some bubbles and it's really heavy. Is this an apprentice's mistake and valued only for the bottles name or is this a delightful foible that ups the value?
