Can you post a photo of the entire bottle? (Dr. Townsends side preferred)

Does it look like the one on Jeff's page??

That is an extremely rare Townsends, probably the best. I am not positive, but I think Jeff had it at the national show in 2005 for around $10,000. I may not be correct, it was a long time ago. What an awesome find!

There's certainly less than 6 known with this style of top. I'm of the strong opinion that these bottles were blown at either Lancaster or Lockport in that the mold (especially in the base area) is constructed much like a Vaughn's and that the top can be seen on a few Western NYS pontil medicines that were thought to have been blown there. I did sell mine for a premium (sadly not for what I asking - good memory Bill!) but the buyer valued not only the top but also the incredibly deep color and wild crudity of that particular example. This is certainly a wonderful find - IMHO not a 10K bottle but not a run of the mill Townsend's either. I'd love to see a pic of the bottle as a whole!

Oh, and it should probably be told that all of the examples are smooth based - is the same true with this example?

What a beauty, these are all the new York variants and not the Albany new York variants right? The lip is just like a sheldons magic boot polish... Nice dig!
