Pulled off some wood siding to expose the
baloon construction and decided to go get the flashlight for a look
see. About ten years ago we found a Baltimore Glassworks amber
anchor flask whilst cutting a hole for a new hot water heater. That
helped get me back into bottles again. About four years ago I got this
bright idea to bring home a borescope and cut tiny holes around the
base of the house looking for more but to no avail. Wife was not
thrilled! Two years ago we found a Warrented half pint under the
upstairs floor while putting in new heating duct work. Back to
present I could never scope under the two front doors so as I looked
in the very last panel I spy a med with DUTTON'S embossed on it.
Carefully pulled it out and it looks like the paper label might still
be there. Under magnification and brushing no writing could be seen
only tiny bits of paper and lots of stain. Cleaned up real nice and
the aqua med is embossed DUTTON'S/VEGETABLE/DISCOVERY. Now any
bottle that comes out of our 1883 house is a keeper but here's where
you can burst my bubble. Its got to be common because a web search
pulled up a neat four page brochure put out by Fairchild advertizing
this very med and claiming sales of 40 to 60 thousand bottles. Yet
I only see reference to a
Man I tell ya, sure wish I had bottles falling outa my house.LoL
The Dutton's run about $20 but yours could be worth more as I don't have any listing for that perticular bottle. Maybe someone else hase a closer listing.
