Early onion

Hello All, I received in the post this week a circa. 1700 English Onion form. Still retaining the short neck and slightly tapering sides of the transitional Shaft and Globe but having a string rim with a beveled appearance that is associated forms produced later. At approximately 5.25" tall x 5.25" wide it meets size criteria of what is generally considered a pancake onion but it has a body that is more globular. The pontil scar is conical and fairly deep which differs from the less uniform shallow marks that are on bottles that I have always considered from the same period, which makes me wonder if different methods were used by period glasshouses depending their region or tradition.
