Pancake onion

Hello All,I recently purchased what I believe could be described as a circa 1700 pancake onion as the dimensions are 6" x 6" with a shallow kick up that has large circular scar with bits glass still attached.It has many attributes of English manufacture but this is the first I've collected that has such a large perfectly round scar. yes, looks very unusual. so it's only 6" tall? love those old black glass mallet types. don't know much about them, but they are really cool. looks like you have an unusual example. better pics might help. love those string tops. thanks for sharing with us. keep'em coming .... jim

yes it is a diminutive 6" tall and 6" diameter making for a desirable smaller size. I purchased from a seller in Florida but where it was found is unknown to me however the water washed interior and exterior with bits of sand embedded makes me think it spent some time in a river or ocean.

the scar takes on a bluish hue. A lot more going on inside, I guess that would be considered devitrification.[attachment=17001.JPG][attachment=17002.JPG]
