Here is an ad from July 2nd 1817. The entire warehouse list of bottled medicines being sold by T W Dyott is shown in the next picture.

Here is the list of bottled medicines in a large advertisment on the rear page of the newspaper.Dyott has about 3 quarters of this page to himself .As you can see a lot of the early bottles we collect are in this list.

At the bottom of this ad you can see Dyott states glass furniture and Windsor glass. I wonder what each of those are ? Additionaly his brother John is living in South Carolina and is an acting sales agent in the Southern Market as stated by Dr Dyott.

since he went to the trouble of embossing this bottles I would think it would have been used for one of his personal proprietary medicines. The generics where probably sold in slicks with label only.

I would agree Matt. I would bet its his tooth ache drops the bottle is very small and did not hold much medicine.

ORIGINAL: baltbottles

Dug this today from a circa 1810-1830 pit in Philadelphia. Clear flint glass flared lip mostly chipped off embossed T.W. DYOTT I saw another example of this bottle years ago but wondering if anyone else has seen one.

Shame about the lip, Chris! The crudeness of the bottle is awesome.
