Mark I contacted a Fan Taz collector today and hoping to hear from him soon. Maybe he's got a bottle or label. The closest thing I've found to a bottle/label is this ... I stumbled across this tid-bit of info today but not sure if and/or how it might tie in. Its from a 1913 patent gazette and list L. C. Arny of New Orleans, Louisiana as having applied for a trademark symbol shaped like a bird. The text reads as follows ... Ser No 67,317 CLASS 45 BEVERAGES NON ALCOHOLIC
L.C. Arny ~ New Orleans, LaFiled Dec 9, 1912
The trademark consists of the representation of an animal resembling a bird with outstretched wings.Particular description of goods Fan Taz, Celery, Ginger Ale, and Club Soda.
Claims use since May 1, 1912
Notice where the description of goods includes Fan Taz. But what I'm not sure about is whether the symbol was used on his labels, or what. I researched the name L.C. Arny and discovered he was a bottler in New Orleans for many years, and even found a number of his bottles. But other than this trademark reference, I cannot find anything else connecting him to Fan Taz. I assume he must have bottled Fan Taz at some point. Here's the link where I found the listing and the accompanying image below ...
