[8|] I'm trying to remember. I know these are about 1880 and I believe they are the Czar and Czarina of Russia. They are American made, but I do not remember why they were issued. Duh. Also, I could be wrong. It's been a while.
These bottles are not listed in A. C. Revi's 1970 book, AMERICAN PRESSED GLASS AND FIGURE BOTTLES. This is negative evidence which suggests (but doesn't prove) that they aren't American-made.
I suspect that these are French-made bottles. France produced quite a few figural bottles near the turn of the 19th century; and France had long-standing historical connections with Tsarist Russia (if these figurals actually represent the Romanovs).
