Ron , I would like to see a picture of your Kidney Bottles , especially the Kidney Cures ! Have a great show I hope you find a lot of good bottles ! Message me after the show & I'll see if I have any more duplicates . Ed
Here are a few display pics from my old and abused diggin' camera. There will be more quality pics by others to follow.
In the center of the display wall was a gazebo set up for individuals to place bottles that stayed there until today. Many rare and seldom seen pieces of glass were in this case. One of my whiskeys, a green J.H. Cutter, was on the top shelf third from left.
On Friday afternoon the early lookers were allowed in and the crown got heavy. I snapped a couple as I sped back to my table. Sales were brisk on Friday PM, OK on Sat, and dead this morning.
Mike, what's the scoop with the pic of the whiskey display right above the gazebo pic. I see the bottles are sitting on cleear plastic fingers with lights below the bottles but I can't reallt tell what's going on at the top of the bottle. Are those little spring loaded holders so the bottles can be held in place and then removed from the display?
Thanks,
Jim
That is a design of a pair of brothers from Utah. The idea is that the bottles are firmly held in place in case of earthquakes and also to allow the base characteristics to be seen. You cannot observe a bottle's base if it is sitting flat on a shelf. I believe that all of the bottles in that display were J.H.Cutter fifths from several different types and mold designs.
Excellent pictures Mike....Thanks for posting them...I think the bottle of the show was the one I picked up from you..can't tell you enough how much I like it. I will post a picture later. My daughter has the cord for my camera/computer connection. Thanks again..Ron
Thanks for posting the Expo display pictures, very nice! I really enjoyed the show and got to meet a lot of people who I only knew of. It was nice to meet them in person! A lot of nice western bitters were available on several different tables as well from collectors privately. I was able to add another early western piece to my collection.
