New to this forum so first post. I saw a similar post but no answers as to what this bottle was used for. Hoping pics provide clues to someone who knows.

Since trying to save on metal use during WWII I'm surprised they gave it such a big metal lid instead of a small metal lid.. they pushed the use of Quart beer bottles over smaller 12 oz. or pint beer bottles during WWII to save on Metal Usage & restricted all use of Beer Cans for Civilian use. Leon.
