On the whistle bottle sub-topic, here is the 28oz. This bottle is Canadian.
I believe a pic of one of these has been posted here before.

It's 7:00 PM on the west coast and 10:00 PM on the east coast, which means "It's Howdy Doody Time" ... er, ah, I mean it's time to announce the winner!

The winning number is 70

(Which I selected prior to the contest and is the year I graduated from High School ~ 1970)

I have no objection to an Administrator participatating and winning if the majority of those who submitted a number don't mind. I said any "member" could play, and Administrators are definitely members!

Thus, unless there is a major revolt to the contrary, I hereby announce the winner of the acl book to be ...

"cowseatmaize"

(Who posted the number 69 and did not go over the winning number)

Thanks again to all who participated. In my book you're all winners!

WOW, this is so unexpected. I don't have a speech prepared so I want to thank you, of coarse, Bob.
I also want to thank everyone and everything that ever existed in time and space for getting me where I am today!

I sent Eric / cowseatmaize a email requesting his address, and will mail the acl book to him asap.

Thanks again to all who participated. And should anyone want to order a book, I have one left that is available for $50.00. Just PM me with your request and I will reply with my mailing address where you can send the money order.

Bob

Just for the record, here's my Senior picture from my 1970 yearbook ... and although it may not look it, I had the longest hair in the entire school at the time and almost got expelled because of it. But my parents stood up for me against the school board and I won the day!

You are not only generous but brave, I could never post my yearbook photo.[:D][:D][:D] I didn't like it then and still don't. I cut my hair for my mom, it was actually longer in grammar school.[:D] Sure, after high school it got WAY longer for a time but....
Anyway, I didn't get the email so since I guess there was "major revolt to the contrary" I'll send one to you.
Thanks again, maybe with this I can stop asking stupid questions about simple things.
I'm so excited!!!

Eric ~

Thanks.

I received your address and will mail the book tomorrow.

By the way, regarding the school board decision which allowed me to keep my so called long hair, it set a precident for the school and by the time I graduated in June of 1970 the entire dress code was abolished. Prior to that, boys were required to keep their hair trimed above the shirt collar and could not wear attire that was "shabby looking." How things have changed ... meaning, I'm almost bald now! (Lol)
