help with beer bottle ?

bottle is 10 inches tall, bottle appears to be dark green, almost black at bottom, no marks appears to mhave applied lip glass looks to be very crude, thanxs for any help. if interested send me a pm. thanxs bob

Yup, looks like an old beer bottle. It has the same basic shape of the bottles I have that I know were English. Probably a dip mold? Scott

thanxs scott, i saw where it's has a grooved lip, year maybe 1867 thru 1890

you have an ale bottle 1850s early 1860s ,black glass,most likely American.theres a lot out there if you know were to look.

Well Bob, I am back to you again. That bottle was not made in a dip mold. Dip molds were for the shaping of a lot of bottles where the parison was blown in the dip mold to pick up vertical ribs that could be twisted in the final blow for decoration. That finish was used on a lot of bottles where the ring held a wire twisted cork in place. RED Matthews
