Hey everyone. I found these walking along side of the river....later looked up by chance, and thought i saw a wire....looked closer and found a whole line of electric or phone (i dont know) polls, some fallen and others still standing and connected. What exactly are these things called and what is their purpose....I know the general name is an insulator, right? Anyways, I decided to just take 2 for now until I found out more about them.....The are dated, 1956 and 1957 made by PP Inc. Should i go to the effort of finding more of these or not? Thanks - Jon

they are high voltage or high tension line insulators. I know people collect the glass ones like that but not sure about the ceramic.
