how long do should you tumbl

i got a bottle tumbler from the jar doc but dont know how long to tumble for.can anyone help?????????

It usually takes a few days, but like Brian just said, it really depends on the specimen. You should practice on some commons until you get the hang of it.

I usually use 1 day for a cutting tumble. Any longer doesn't seem to make much difference.
I usually use 4 days for a polishing tumble. 3 days will typically get all the "frostiness" out of the glass, but sometimes it needs a little longer, so I go with 4 days.

Your results will almost certainly vary, so I offer this as a starting point. As the previous posts say, you need to experiment on a few bottles and find out what works best for you.
