I dug up this huge top yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't find any other pieces. Anyone have any ideas what it was?

Top to a big chemical carboy.
Interesting! For some reason I just just assumed they all contained wine. Now if I can just find a whole one. Thanks!

I've always found the ones with the ground lip top at locations where manufacturing took place, hence the chemical attribution. Good luck finding a whole one...I've seen spots where there are hundreds of broken ones but they are so big I suspect they rarely were left intact when thrown away just due to the volume they took up.

Gotcha that makes sense! This one was mixed in with alot of medical bottles. My most interesting find was an old bone needle.
