Hi all,
I'm not a bottle collector, but I saw this bottle at the swap meet today and it just appealed to me so I bought it for five dollars. It's about 8 inches tall, 2 1/2 inches square, rounded shoulders leading to a neck that is about 1 inch in diameter and about 1 1/4 inches long. It has a wooden stopper. The interesting thing about the bottle is that it is wrapped in what appears to be tooled leather. There is all sorts of scrollwork and floral patterns and there is what look to be old spanish buildings comprising a town square on one side. The word "Salamanca" appears there. On the other side, there are more mission-type spanish buildings with a long bridge, supported by many stone arches in the foreground. If this thread generates any interest, I can post a photo, but may need someone to walk me through that process. Thanks!
Doug
