I got this email query and was wondering if anyone could help with it...no pic.

Hi. Could you help me identify a piece? It is stoneware Salt Cup (I believe for domestic livestock) It is standard stoneware color with blue print "Wisconsin-Minnesota" "Salt Cup" "Patent Applied For" "Siren Dairy Association, Inc." "Siren, Wisconsin" It is about 7 1/2" top diameter with a very thick squared off lip. It is about 5 1/4" tall. There are wide flat "grooves"; one around bottom and two short ones coming down from that to bottom of piece. These must have been for a band of metal to lock it in place? I did a Google search and can't find out anything on Siren Dairy or the brand name of this. It is in near mint condition and may never have been used (there is no indication that a metal band ever touched the stoneware surface).
Thanks for any help you can share.
