Interesting Fruit Jar Lid

So I was going through some of my finds from a few months ago and found this lid in the mix. I think its a canning jar lid, but not 100% sure. It says: PATENTED / NOV 29th / 1870 (outer circle)....PATENTED / FEB 2 / 1873 (inner circle). It doesn't have a maker on it, so I'm trying to figure out who patented this jar or lid on those dates. What's also strange is that I found this in a 1920s-1950s dump, though a few TOC pieces have found their way in there as well. Hopefully it's a good indication of things to come []. Thanks guys!

according to the red book the lid is for a couple different jars, # 2809 & 3022-3025 ( tillyer jar, lid is 25-30% of value of jar and is called common but clamp is scarce) (and winslow jar ) It may be listed as common but still a tough one to find. Shame you didn't have on of the jars!
