Has a British look to it. Could have been made in Ireland though. There was a glass bottle industry there from the 17th century onwards.

Nice bottle, but not one I've heard of before, and I haven't been able to track down any patent medicines with that name in either England or Ireland (D'Arcy's Rheumatic Drops, or anything like that). Possibly a druggist / apothecary from Galway, although there are no likely candidates I've been able to find in the whole of County Galway in the 1860s. Roughly what age was the privy Chris?

It has the look of an apothecary.
Werent there some early dispensaries listed in that area of Ireland?
It doesnt have a really early look to it , its well blown with that heavy block embossing.
If it was american I would be guessing 1850-1860.

From page 206 of Pigot's Directory of Ireland, 1824:

Galway (county town of County Galway)

Merchants, Tradesmen, etc.

amongst the listings of Apothecaries is "D'Arcy, Michael, Shop-street"

What was the verdict on this sweet bottle?

PD

English or Irish made. Its now in a Uk pontiled med collection as it really wasn't what I collect and I felt it belongs back home across the ocean.
