Hello ironmountain,

Thanks for the additional pictures. I'm assuming it's not base marked. Might I suggest more bottle, less tablecloth.

I can see how the arched shoulders might lead you to think it had gothic overtones. I'd say it's an early semi-automatic machine made cologne. Illinois Glass Co., in their 1906 catalog, would have called it a "Flat, Card Cologne," I believe.

Yo ironmountain,

I think you're mistaking a machine made valve mark for "either a pontil or fake one." The only "fake ones" I'm aware of are either Clevenger or Wheaton reproductions, and this is neither. Semi or automatic bottle machines did not involve pontils.

If you are really interested in learning about bottles and how they were made, I'd really suggest a crash course with Professor Lindsey.

It's way easier and more fun than Mandarin...[8D]

same here mtdfire22...I also have a Jennings Bluing bottle..i've never seen the perfume stuff before...only the flavoring and the bluing.
