Well why not post them they are a unique glass application. Thanks for showing and the information. I have a few lanterns - a few of a lot of things!! Red M.
Nice lantern Joe.Shes in great shape! If I find out that is the manufacturing date for sure,I will let you know.[]
Almost forgot about a cleaning formulae for these.Actually there were 3 on the site, but I like the easiest and less dangerous of them.[] (One was electrolysis and the other some kind of lemon juice mix with something else)
Remove fuel cap,globe and burner.
Put 12 oz.Molasses in 5-10 gal.warm water.
Submerge 1 day.
Lightly scour with Brillo pad (not SOS)
Repeat until rust or tarnish is removed.
After one final rinse in solution, dry with a paper towel and a hair dryer on low.
Polish with Blue Magic metal polish to bring out the luster. You can also buff with #0000 steel wool.
Paint or linseed oil is optional and will help preserve them and paint is fairly easy to remove later if desired.
DO NOT SAND BLAST THESE.It could actually blast right through the metal and ruin it.
