I have only heard of these. Oddly enough, it was from an old LP my dad had of Dr. Murray Banks. He mentioned these in one of his stories. He was a Comedic Psychologist who traveled around enlightening people back in the 50's and '60s. Now I'm sure most med collectors have an example of these (or know about them) as they were popular back in the day, from what I gather.
Very cool bottle. I like bottles that have odd wording like that. I know nothing about it nor have I ever seen one but I'm very interested in knowing more about it.
LOVE IT!!! What a great bit of embossing, really makes an otherwise way-common med into something special!! My guess is that they're trying to say if Carter makes such effective pills, then this liquid version must be equally good...
All my life I heard the expression "He's got more money than Carter's got liver pills". Back in the 80's when my grandmother died we were cleaning out her house and I found this bottle of Carter's Little Liver Pills, with cork, label and its orginal contents. The pills look kinda like okra seed. Sorry for the blury pic, I just snapped a shot with my blackberry.
Same here DiggerRL. The bad thing about that is i always thought people were talking about Billy Carter and his drinking? Never asked what it really meant!
