Hi Folks -
I picked up this castor oil bottle recently and thought I'd share it with you. It's a 6 in. light aqua cylinder shaped bottle with a long narrow neck that takes up almost half of the bottle's length. It's a smooth base with paper label only and some content residue. It is from W. M. Ballard, a druggist located in Hallowell Maine from 1867-1877. I've seen a few other bottles with a similar shape, usually castor oil or sweet oil. Does this bottle type have a particular name and what was the purpose of such a long neck?
Thanks - Sam
