I have two GKW monogram quarts, base embossed Whitney Glassworks, dark aqua and deep green. These are different from the more classic Saratoga style quarts that have Gettysburg Katalysine Water spelled out in a circle.

Here they are...although this picture really doesn't do them justice.

I don't know the history behind these bottles, but they are listed as scarce, and come in light green, aqua, teal blue, deep forest green, and citron. Other than the two I have, I have only seen two aquas listed for sale. I would love to come across a citron variant. Here are a couple more pics...

Here's an interesting article I found on the internet.

The Gettysburg Spring Difficulty.

April 11, 1869, Wednesday
Page 1, 183 words
Last evening a stranger asked permission of the night watchman at Katalysine Spring to see the Spring and to taste the water before leaving in the morning train. This being a common occurrence, the watchman admitted the man to the bottling establishment, which he had to pass through to reach the Spring; [ END OF FIRST PARAGRAPH ]

Thanks, I always wondered if that was Gettysburg PA. I see them around here every so often but I didnt know if they were rare. I see the Saratogo style ones. The ones I have seen have been emerald green or olive green.
