Cyb and Richard,...can't wait to see the results...I've experimented with lightly distressing paint before, with a low setting bernzomatic torch... and speaking of heat,...Gunth, here's what I was looking at,...In no way was I doubting their craftsmanship. We too heat with an antique cast Iron wood stove,...Nice heat indeed, although Laur doesn't appreciate hefting the wood into it.[;)]

Just dirt on mine, you can see in the photo its not is the same spot.
THey have some of these in the Henry Mercer museum over by Philly.

They also made a repro of this fireback so be carefull if you see one in an antiques store.
