Monarch bottle for Sodapopbob

Hello Bob, I wanted to show you this bottle that is almost identical to the Pyramid bottle. It is a 1934 Edinburg Va. bottle with everything the same as the Pyramid bottle with the exception of the pyramid for a lion!! The same deco and trees and markings. Here is a picture of the bottle. Kevin: That's one cool bottle! Thanks for sharing it with us. It is indeed almost identical to the Pyramid bottle you sold me except that it has a lion instead of a pyramid. As you know, the Pyramid bottle is from Newport News, Virginia, whereas the Monarch bottle is from Edinburgh, Virginia. Other than similarity in design, I don't believe there is a connection between the two companies. Possibly what occurred is that the Monarch company requested a modified version of the Pyramid design from the Graham Glass Company. The Pyramid bottle was made by the Graham Glass Company and on the bottom says "Patent Applied For." It is also marked with ... 4131E 1 G 29 Does the Monarch bottle have any similar markings on the heel or base? Here's a pic of the Pyramid bottle for comparison ...

By the way ... I was looking around and discovered there is an ACL of the Monarch/Lion bottle. I don't know much about it other than it is described as extremely rare. Notice it is a 3-color acl - yellow with two shades of green. [ Close Up Front ]
