Can you believe that a Mountain Dew Stryrofoam labeled soda and some assorted other Code Red stuff sold for nearly $77? I'm a bit stunned as well; however, I did bid on the bottle in question as I had never seen one before myself. The bottle in question is a Mountain Dew Red bottle from around 1988, this was the forerunner to Code Red and didn't last very long at all. Until this auction I had only known about the Mountain Dew Red cans and never even knew that there was a bottle, but alas I lost the auction. Where theres there will be others, and now I know they exist.

amazing that newer stuff can bring in $77.00 like that . Has me wondering if this "throwback" packaging out now will do.

If Throwback hits those marks then i am going to be kicking myself for taking 20 bags of throwback cans to the recyclers. But, you know that Throwback is staying out now? On the Mountain Dew Labs website the state that Throwback is "back" for another run in late Dec. (now). I don't know how long it will last this time, 6 months or what.

I actually remember the "red" mt. dew. I was about 8 years old, having tried Mt. Dew for my first time I actually hated it. But, this wasn't Mountain Dew's fault, no, I had popped a can that was over 4 years old and tasted similar to the real Mountain Dew (Shine).

I don't see Throwback falling into the same category, at least not the Hillbilly packaging, it just won't go away. I noticed that Dew labs said it was coming, but my response was it never left. Now the first version of the Throwback bottles might have some value down the road, but who knows.
