I picked up this beautiful vase/bottle at a Goodwill store. I wonder if perhaps it is not a vase but really is a bottle.
I have spent hours/days searching all kinds of glass manufacturer identification websites to try to find the manufacturer based on the mark that is in the center of the bottom of the piece. I believe the mark is a V over a G on the left and a C on the right (about 3/8" diameter). The bottom also has the following letters/numbers around the edge of the bottom: 50cl 3 55mm 1 A
It is 11" tall with a 3" base.
It has a slight luminescence to it. On the vase is the raised image of what looks like the front of a church with one door with a round window above it and what looks like a small cross.

Please forgive my ignorance of terminology as I am by no means an expert (not even a novice) in glass identification.

Anything anyone can do to help me will be greatly appreciated as I am extremely curious about the background of this piece. I am embedding a pic and can send more detailed pics.

Hello Nancy,

Welcome to the Blue Pages & thanks for showing us the side view of your bottle. Additional photos, in natural light, of the base, the confluence of seams on the lip, and the embossed church would be helpful.

The "50Cl" designation would indicate a liquid, likely of Mediterranean origin. I suspect it's of recent manufacture.

That would make sense as I also picked up a brown bottle on the same visit that I traced to a balsamic vinegar maker in Italy. I will sent additional pics but will have to send on a separate reply as I can only attach one at a time. I bet they came from same person who collected vinegar bottles.

If you can tell more from the pics, I would appreciate it.
