found this on the weekend at a thrift store , though it was neat as its from atlantic canada . it appears to be a small liquor bottle but is actually a coin/penny bank as it has a slot for coins and hole on the bottom .
not exactly sure how old it is ? bottom says " Japan " indicating it was made in Japan not canada . i doubt its any older than the 50's , i actually have a book on coin banks from canada but its not featured in it
Newfoundland Screech Rum is a liquor brand still sold there , is pictures online that show bottles with this exact label although couldn't find any coin banks or similar porcelain bottles . its likely someone from Ontario bought it there years ago as a souvenir as Newfoundland a popular tourist area during the summer
