I met my brother and a friend in the middle of town early this morning for a dig on some nice early lots in the center of commercial district. He had permission to dig in a blacktop parking lot. We opened it up and found some nice stuff flasks and jars pontils and meds and stoneware. a beautifull face pipe of President Peirce and other stuff we are done cleaning the bottom of the hole and Zane says its hollow behind the wall and there are seeds. We pull the brick from the wall and there is the newer pit next to it. What a great day. This is the best part. One of the locals from the neighbor hood says I will fill the hole in for a few bucks so the three of us pitched in $5.00 a piece and he filled it in. Here are some pictures.

That scroll flask is a beauty. I even like the puff as you don't dig pontiled bottles on every dig. Look forward to seeing more picks. BTW, other than seeing a depression in the asphalt, how did you know that there was a privy in that location? Are you using GPR?

That pipe is a beauty. I've never seen one like that with the President on it. Were molds used to make clay pipes? I just have never done any research into how they were made. Thanks.
