Thanks! I recently started metal detecting and I'm not finding any jewelry or coins but a bunch of bottles. I inherited my father in laws collection. Any ideas what this may be?

The second bottle is likely a mustard bottle, but it could have held a different food product as well. It dates to around 1910 give or take a few years. It appears to be hand blown with an amethyst tint, so probably no later than 1920.

Go to sha.gov for lots of info on bottle making history to help identify them. It's a great site.

Just want to correct the website. The correct one is http://www.sha.org/bottle/.
