While not a bottle, I did find this sign for $35 some time ago at a store, and just recently sent it out for restoration (this is the before photo, as I don't have it back yet). It is made out of some kind of plaster and had some cracks and dings but have not found another one like it. Any Owl Drug memorabilia folks out there seen anything like this?

I hope so! I can't wait to get it back and then somehow work into the Owl Bottle shelf, which may require some reorginization!

Hello Scott,

Your sign looks like a real humdinger! It really doesn't look like it "needed" much restoration. What size is it, and are there any back markings?

I have had several of those plaster owls. They came from the outside of the Oakland Owl Agency, in Oakland, CA. There were dozens of them appliqued to the upper perimeter of the building. The owl is brown and black(owl coloring), the flowers orange and yellow, and logo lettering is black. There is one remaining, but it's somewhere upstairs in a box and I haven't seen it in years.

Ya, I think you have a winner. I would love to have one of them to place next to the hutch.
Just updated my owls on the website, just havnt uploaded it to the web yet as I'm waiting on a KO-45 to get here so I can photo that group again.

Thanks Mike, interesting information. How was that agency affiliated with Owl Drug, was it a headquarters or something like that?

It's close to 16" in diameter, and no markings on the back. There is some kind of steel hook/hanger embeded in the back of the plaster. The spooky thing are the glass eyes, they really stare out at you!

The Oakland Agency store was one of the largest in the west. There was an Owl store not far from me that still had the huge porcelain Owl Drug Co sign on the wall until 15 yrs ago. I removed it when the building was being remodeled into an Asian market. It was in three parts and when assembled, the thing was 12' long and 6' high. VERY heavy.
