My mother-in-law had the Patent bottle and green bottle in her storeroom. She's had them since she was young, and that was a while ago. I've seen a bit of information on the Patent bottle, but the green bottle has me stumped. It's nicely made, but the glass looks old and the blob top has my interest too. Can anyone shed some light on these? Thanks.

The green bottle is a beer or mineral water bottle from around 1900-1910 or so. The Patent bottle is a fair amount older.

Thanks. That green bottle is so well made it thought it might be 20th century, but the blob top threw me off. I didn't know manufacturers still used that technique that late. On the Patent bottle, I've read it could be from as early as the 1860's, and the form was popular. The word Patent confuses me though. I wonder what it means and why, apparently, more than one manufacturer embossed it on their bottles. I've held two of these bottles. Both came from low farm country along the Missouri River in central Missouri.
