Tell me that I found something worth some money. I think this is pre-1900 but I don't know for sure. If it is pre-1900 I would be very suprised because the dump I'm digging seems to date from the 1920's. Yes, this bottle has the dreaded "sickness." Even if it's not worth anything I still like the style. Anybody have any info on it? Thanks!

Bryan...

Looks like a Schenk's Pulmonic Syrup... Latest Kovels' has the iron pontil version at $22-70 (a weird range)... That's 7 1/8" in height...

Jim Megura (2000) has the o.p. 7" version at $75-100...

Can you put up a photo of the base?

Ron

PS: don't be surprised to find older bottles in a younger dump... it happens quite often and for various reasons...

Nice bottle you found there, it does look like a early one with the applied tapered lip......I have sold a few for $15 bucks at the local flea market... What does the base look like and is there other embossing on the specimen? It looks like the pulmonic bottle but there are other variants worth more.... Taz

Joseph H. Schenck introduced Schenck's Mandrake Pills Compound and Pulmonic Syrup
in 1836 and soon therafter His Sea Wead Tonic. By 1872 the company was known as J.H. Schencks & son.
Syrup advertised 1942 by J.H. Schenck &
sons, Philadelpia, by 1948 by Plough Sales Corp Memphis Tenn.
Aqua 7 1/4" x 2 3/4"
So looks like your bottle is from 1836 and 1872
