found this one this summer . bottle is aqua in color 51/4x2 1/8x3/4 slightly recessed panal embossed compond cough syrup a.w.smith portland me. bim proberly 1880- 1890 bottle is different then most of the me. medicine bottles. may be earlier then i think any value or info would be helpfull thanks steve

Hi Steve -

A. W. Smith was a druggist located on Portland Street in Portland from 1872-96. I have seen one of those Compund Cough Syrup bottles at the Cabot Mill Mall in Brunswick with a price of $25 - that is the only one I've ever seen.

thanks sam appreciate the info kind of started going after me. bottles the last couple of years you should check out the dr trues horse elixer from auburn. bottle is shaped like one of those me. sassparilla bottles nice amber color. good hunting steve

hey sam that is something i could be interested in dont like the sodas to much but the medicines could be of intrest. what type of bottles are you lookin for.steve
