Question about J&IEM Turtle INK bottle

I am possibly purchasing a J&IEM Turtle ink bottle and just wondering if anyone knows what an embossed number 8 means on the bottom of the bottle? Would like to know more about this before I buy - anyone know?? THANKS!! I have looked at these bottles before elsewhere and never saw a number embossed.

Probably just a mold number.

They come with and without. No doubt a particular mold, from a particular glasshouse. I fear the info is lost to history...
